Phased Arrays

Phased arrays offer many inspection solutions.
Phased array probes consist of many small ultrasonic elements, each of which can be pulsed individually. By varying the timing, for instance by pulsing the elements one by one in sequence along a row, a pattern of interference is set up that results in a beam at a set angle so the beam can be steered electronically. The beam is swept like a search-light through the tissue or object being examined, and the data from multiple beams are put together to make a visual image showing a slice through the object.

In June of 2010 Blatek Inc. and HQSonics b.v. joined forces to sell Industrial Phased Arrays in several European countries. HQSonics b.v. is the exclusive representative for the sale of Blatek's Industrial Phased Arrays in Western Europe.

HQSonics offers Blatek's extensive line of Phased Arrays using their proprietary piezocomposite with single or double matching layer(s). These concepts produce maximum sensitivity and generate 50% plus bandwidths. Designs can be matched for immersion use or optimized to work in conjunction with various angle beam materials.
